Registering Your Internet Domain

If you choose to have a hosted domain name such as www.yourdomain.ext you will be required to submit a registration request through a certified domain registrar or have Figment do it for you.  Each domain registrar will have their own process to update your domain's name server settings and you should check with your domain registrar for specific instructions.

Figment can register the following TLDs: .ca, .com, .net, .org, .us, .cn, and .biz through our affiliate WebNames.ca and can host any foreign domain.   Registration does not confer immunity from objection to either the registration or use of the domain name.

Customers who choose to have Figment register their .ca, .com, .org, .us, .cn, .biz or .net domains on their behalf will be registered through WebNames.ca. All domain name registration fees for domains registered by Figment apply per year per domain and will be billed directly by Figment. The registration fee will appear on your first month's statement.

Figment recommends the use of a Domain Registrar that allows automated updates of your DNS name server settings such as WebNames.ca.

Configuring your domain's name server settings

Your domain name is registered with a certified Domain Name registrar and contains the location of your Primary and Secondary name servers for that domain (NS1 and NS2).  In order for Figment to host your website, your domain must point to the Figment name servers.  Correct name server settings should appear in a whois lookup of your domain as follows:

NS1-Hostname: ns1.figment.ca
NS1-IP Address: 68.145.240.254
NS2-Hostname: ns2.figment.ca
NS2-IP Address: 68.146.51.235

Each domain registrar will have their own process to update your domain's name server settings.  Check with your domain registrar for specific instructions.

Figment recommends the use of a Domain Registrar that allows automated updates of your DNS name server settings such as WebNames.ca.

NOTE: DNS Settings are not reflected immediately and can take several days to populate through the Internet.  Please allow at least two days for domain name server changes to take effect.
